Renate’s story

EARLY LIFE AND CAREER

Renate grew up in Curitiba, a city in southern Brazil. After graduating high school, she followed in her father’s footsteps and studied for a degree in dental surgery at the University of São Paulo, finishing in the top 1% of more than 30,000 candidates (actually, she finished in the top 0.007%!), before going on to work at her father’s dental practice.

From here, Renate continued her studies at the same university, earning a qualification in Restorative Dentistry. But Brazil couldn’t hold her for long – soon she was off to the USA, working in Seattle and San Francisco for a time to earn more experience, before returning to Brazil for more training, this time in implants, prosthodontics, endodontics and occlusion. Eventually, she purchased her father’s dental practice and continued to run it.

Renate is a member of the International Fellowship in Advanced Aesthetic Sciences (IFAAS), and continues to upskill herself to ensure she’s always on top of new products and procedures, and can achieve the best results available to modern medicine.

NOT JUST FUNCTIONAL DENTISTRY, BUT AESTHETICS TOO

Beautiful smiles are important to Renate – she is passionate about more than just the functional side of dentistry, but also its aesthetic side. She has dedicated much of her time and study to procedures that achieve the balance between function and appearance – like Botox, dermal fillers and collagen-boosting microneedling – and how they can help restore a younger version of a patient, accentuating their natural features.

Her unique skillset makes her highly qualified to administer these procedures, having built a wealth of knowledge in the areas of pain relief and facial anatomy. Of course, Brazil itself has a well-deserved reputation for appearance medicine, and Renate's heritage includes a strong focus on self-care.

MOVING TO NEW ZEALAND

Renate married the love of her life Giorgio, an Italian Chef de Cuisine, together with whom she’s had two children.

When Renate’s sister and her family moved to Australia, it made Renate take a closer look at this side of the world for the first time. She and her husband utterly fell in love with New Zealand and decided it would be the perfect place to raise their two children.

In her spare time, Renate enjoys discovering more of the country she now calls home and is always ready for a new adventure.
